Opportunity Favours the Bold
I was scrolling through LinkedIn today when I saw a post by Richard Branson.
It immediately caught my attention.
He wrote:
“Opportunity favours the bold.”
That line alone is powerful.
He went further to say:
“If somebody offers you an amazing opportunity but you’re not sure you can do it, say yes — then learn how to do it later.”
That mindset built Virgin.
And honestly, that mindset built many of the things we admire today.
Too many people hesitate.
Too many people overthink.
Too many people wait until they feel “ready.”
Here are 10 powerful quotes about opportunity that stood out to me:
10.
“In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.” – Albert Einstein
Sometimes the opportunity is disguised as a problem.
9.
“If you don’t play, you can’t win.” – Judith McNaught
Standing on the sidelines guarantees one thing — nothing changes.
8.
“Teachers open the door, but you must enter by yourself.” – Chinese Proverb
Guidance exists. Action is personal.
7.
“An optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” – Winston Churchill
Perspective determines possibility.
6.
“Entrepreneurs understand there is little difference between obstacle and opportunity.” – Victor Kiam
The difference is interpretation.
5.
“Luck is preparation meeting opportunity.” – Oprah Winfrey
Preparation is your responsibility. Opportunity is timing.
4.
“How much I missed, simply because I was afraid of missing it.” – Paulo Coelho
Fear disguises itself as caution.
3.
“To dream by day is to make it happen.” – Stephen Richards
Daydreamers who act win.
2.
“The entrepreneur searches for change and exploits it as opportunity.” – Peter Drucker
Change is not the enemy. It’s leverage.
1.
“There are no mistakes, only opportunities.” – Tina Fey
Even failure carries advantage — if you look for it.
My Take
Most of the biggest shifts in my life came from saying “yes” before I felt ready.
Not because I had everything figured out.
But because I trusted my ability to figure it out.
If you want to grow, you must be comfortable being uncomfortable.
So if you’re like me and believe life rewards action, repeat this:
The answer is yes. Now, what was the question?
When was the last time you seized an opportunity that changed your life?
